Oilsands Orientation
Course Description:
Honeywell Safety Services is offering the Oilsands Orientation course on behalf of Ironworkers local 720. The Oilsands Orientation will be the pre-site access requirement for all new contract workers at participating OSSA member work sites effective July 1, 2015. PLEASE NOTE: This training requirement applies only to NEW workers. If you already have proof of the ORO (OSSA Regional Orientation) and CSTS certification, you will continue to have site access.
Oilsands Orientation is 4.5 hours in duration. It is an instructor led course and is intended to replace the current OSSA Regional Orientation (ORO) as pre-site access requirements for the four OSSA member sites. The Oilsands Orientation does not replace CSTS-09.
Upon Completion of the Oilsands Orientation program a worker will be able to present their credential to any of the Oil Sands Safety Association Owner Member sites (Albian Sands Energy Inc., Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., Suncor Energy Inc., And Syncrude Canada Ltd.) as proof of completing the required pre-site access orientation.
Course Objective:
The learning objective of the Oilsand Orientation is to provide participants with a general awareness of critical safety initiatives found at participating OSSA Member work sites.
Specialized training such as fall protection, confined space entry, or respiratory protective equipment, may also be required depending on your job.
